Citibank Plus or Gold?

I have been looking at feature rich bank accounts and I like the idea of the Citibank options, I can transfer the required £1,800 for the Citi Plus account no problem but I'm more interested in the Gold for the TEN Concierge Service which requires £5,000 credit (I presume transferring my salary in and out again [so it'll be around £7k total going through] is okay?).
So providing it is okay to transfer in, out and in again, is the Citi Gold worth it or should I go for the Citi Plus account? with the concierge service, is it usable in any country they operate (Middle East and USA mainly).
I'm happy with the Citi Plus options (travel insurance, Euro account [rather than getting one in France as I'd originally planned etc] just weighing up the Citi Gold option too

Have used TEN Concierge services before with my Barclays Premier account and didn't find them particularly useful with the only exception of being when trying to get a reservation at the Fat Duck. The American Express Concierge service has been much more impressive for me.
At the end of the day if you can satisfy their deposit requirement for fee free banking with them then there is little reason as not to go for the Gold given it has more features and still free.0 -
Really? hmm well that does put a damper on thing as if they aren't any use then I might be better off just going to Citi Plus.InsideInsurance wrote: »Have used TEN Concierge services before with my Barclays Premier account and didn't find them particularly useful with the only exception of being when trying to get a reservation at the Fat Duck. If it is possible by transferring salary in, out then in again yes I can hit the deposit requirement, if that is not possible (could someone clarify) then I'll just go for Citi Plus which still looks like a good option to me

You get the personal touch with Citigold, it's the difference between flying business class or going economy, overall the you get to the same destination... but can avoid queues and feel a little more pampered :-)0

Hello there.
I can confirm that this does meet the requirements. The staff at the Telephone Bank will tell you otherwise - as they did with me - but it defo does meet the requirements!
Hope that helps.

On the basis it is something for nothing then its no harm in having it. There is always a question of what grade you are with these types of things as well though as with an experience some colleagues had:
3 guys travelling to the US for a meeting, flew in at night with a 9am meeting the next day to pitch for some big business. Mess up at the airport and luggage didnt arrive. The three of them phoned their respective concierges:
1) Told there was nothing that could be done but shops may be open early enough
2) Told which shops were open early and once they'd said which they prefer the concierge offered to contact the store so that they'd put aside some items in their size
3) Told that the mens wear manager from a department store would be at the hotel by the time they were with a selection of items for him to try on/ buy
2 & 3 are the same company just the guys had different grades of accounts and it clearly flows through to how much effort the concierge would go to.0
