glass cutting service (large)

Hi Everone,

Does anyone know if I can get a new flat full size shower screen cut in half???

I live in Runcorn, Cheshire... Very near Warrington, Manchester, St Helens, Widnes...

Very much appreciated and in anticipation... :) Gill X

    This won't be a job for any old glazier. The glass will be toughened safety glass and the cut edge will require grinding and polishing.

    I suggest contacting Pilkington in St Helens who may know of a suitable firm near you.

    Is it actually possible to "cut" tempered glass??

    Even if it is, it will be cheaper to buy the correct size already ground edged and hardened;);)

    Having had a quick google I see;

    No tempered glass cannot be cut, unless it wasn't tempered properly. However it can be machined down on a manual curved edging machine available at shops that do bevelling in shop. Although it's probably cheaper to just buy a new piece of glass.
