Avoid spending Nectar points in store at Sainsbury's

I have usually order vouchers with my Nectar points so that I can spend them on fuel because I rarely go into the store. When I do, they are posted to me at the expense of Nectar and treated as cash at the fuel kiosk till. I get full Nectar Points according to how many litres I've bought.

This evening I popped into the store for a few small items and spent £12.29. Thinking it would save ordering vouchers and having to wait for post to deliver, I opted to spend 2000 points and take £10 off my bill. It shows on the receipt as "Instant Reward £10"

Only after checking my receipt, I noticed I only earned 4 Nectar points on my shopping. I queried it at customer services and was told that you don't earn points on Instand Reward payments.

I will always order vouchers from now on, and they can pay for posting them out.:rotfl:

I've never noticed that before, I'm pretty sure it used to give nectar points for the whole amount including the instant reward.

I think they're cutting down as since a few weeks ago you no longer get points on phone top-ups.
