What will happen if I ignore the Parking Charge?
Really?, now i know they have been issuing quite a few, but thousands per month....?Unfortunately ParkingEye have to issue hundreds, sometimes thousands of County Court Claims each month to recover unpaid Parking Charges - Take appropriate action and do not ignore the Parking Charge.

Irrefutable evidence that the BPA's assertion, should PoFA be enacted, there would be a dramatic decrease in the number of court cases being brought forward by PPCs was wholly incorrect..... and has, seemingly, misled Ministers.
Wonder how the BPA will defend their position? One for the Prankster's blog, maybe? Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

Haven't got a direct link, but FWIU this was all part of the negotiations/discussions/consultations that took place leading up to PoFA.
Didn't the BPA wildly exaggerate the number of court cases PPCs were bringing forward and how PoFA would dramatically reduce these? Then it was brought to light that the figures were totally wrong and the BPA had to significantly (and embarrasingly) reduce them to the level they were really at - the 49 before a judge, 25 for motorists 24 for PPCs statistics that are now frequently quoted.
I'll do a bit more digging around to try to get you something more substantive, if I can.
Unfortunately I wasn't involved in anything PPC at the time of PoFA - a relative newcomer to all of this .... but trying to learn fast

Here we go - caught this fish first stab via Google:
http://s3-eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/plcdev/app/public/system/pdf_files/files/000/000/144/original/BPA-CuttsCorres14Aug2012.pdf
It's from Martin Cutts to Anjna Patel, it's 36 pages long, so I'll read it later after dinner, but I'm sure from a skim this is a good start. Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. Here's a rather telling statement from the above document:
'A reduction in the number of cases taken to court, due to the introduction of an independent appeals service, which in turn would benefit the Criminal Justice System.'
The BPA initially estimated between 2% and 5% of parking charges (Initial figures put forward suggested 4 million** tickets issued per year) ended up in court - in absolute terms between 80,000 and 200,000 ....... when the reality proved to be a mere 49
Footnote: **later revised to 1.8 million tickets with (still erroneously) between 36,000 to 90,000 court cases per year. Reality remained at 49
