BT cordless phone error message

The message is 'line cord error'. I've checked all connections, all good. I've disconnected from the mains and removed batteries, replaced and reset, all to no avail.

The phones were working fine until Wed eve, BT line check reports no faults, so now I don't know what to do. I tried an old corded phone, no dial tone, but no suggestion that the phone is working either, as it used to have a screen that said words, it now does nothing.

Any suggestions without me having to call someone in please guys.

Do you have a friendly neighbour who would let you test the cordless phone ( and the corded while your at it ) in their BT socket?

Might at least prove if problem is on your line or is with the phone.
