FOUND SAFE

My friends cat has been missing for three days. He's two years old, fluffy semi-long haired, mainly white with tabby patches on his head, all tabby tail and a blob on his nose, he's very fluffy.

Lost from the B17 area of Birmingham. She's worried sick as this is out of character for him.

Anyone found a cat matching this description please contact the owner through the National Pet Register website, the reference on there is 49768

(moderator won't let me post the link, I'd be grateful if someone could do so for me please?)

Tell her to go out very late at night when things are quiet, walk around and and call for him. A friend's cat disappeared a few years ago and she did this - eventually she heard a faint mewing coming from the upstairs of a house. No answer when she rang the doorbell. No answer the next morning. The neighbours said the house was let, this was a bank holiday weekend so they might have gone away on holiday. She called the RSPCA who said cats can live for ages like that and call them back after 7 days (!!!) and they would get the police round.

Puss turned up the next day. My friend went round to the house and found they had been away for the weekend, they had a cat flap that was broken and wouldn't open from the inside, didnt get it mended as they don't have a cat. They complained my cat had made some messes - friend was not sympathetic and suggested they get the cat flap permanently closed!

You will also be able to hear if the cat has got shut in a garage or a shed.

Best of luck - very worrying.
