Considering SatNavs used to cost an arm and a leg only a few years back. £100 odd quid is peanuts for the equipment.
You could always try getting a second hand one off ebay.0 -
ive tried mate, but most start from £130+ on there! thanks for the reply though!0

Hi
I have found that buying a cheap Sat Nav was false econmy. I bought a Packard Bell sat nav originally. It was about £140 last April. The sucker thing that you stick it to the window with was useless - kept falling off and so the sat nav got chipped and knocked from repeatedly droppin on the centre console of my car, it also dropped off on to the indicator several times which was really annoying. It also had limited knowledge of some towns - especially bad with one way streets - lots of wrong information.
The best thing on it was the points of interest - they always seemed to be correct.
I now have a tomtom which is soo much better. I have only been directed up 1 one way street and it didn't like Ross on Wye for some reason (all the streets seemed to be wrong), but generally it is more reliable. The sucker isnt 100% but doesn't fall off all the time. It has a lot better information on it, and the speed cameras now come free I believe (although I paid for mine). Its great in walking mode too. The POI aren't quite as good mind you, I think the hotels were only available to companies that paid to be on there as there are a lot missing, but generally it is a lot better if you are going to use it regularly in places you are not used to.LBM 22nd February 2007 - Amount in debt £72,242.23:confused: one month on  £63,900;) 2nd month 60,000.09

I cant see you getting a brand new V2 one under £130.
I picked mine up for £136 when they had a price slash in Jan if i recall correctly and also got a 20% staff discount from a friend of mine who worked in a electrical store.0 -
Just had a quick look - a company called mobiles.co.uk seem to be giving tom tom ones away free with some of their mobile phones. Probably available on other sites too if you are looking for a new phone at the same time.LBM 22nd February 2007 - Amount in debt £72,242.23:confused: one month on  £63,900;) 2nd month 60,000.09

If you use the forum search function to look for tomTom ONE, you'll find loads of discussions about cheaper ones.0

Ive got the tomtom one and so have 2 of my relatives. It really is excellent. Things that appear cheap are just not the same value in the longrun. Consider the size and the views as well. No good squinting at siomething tiny and indistinct as you are trying to find you way about town! Tomtom also has a choice of voices and night views(not so much glare in a dark car) lots of viewing modes to plan you route etc. Check all of these things before buying. I thought it was a lot of money too but the research shows(on tv recently)that tomtom is the best. Take a little longer and save up the extra dosh!Annual Grocery budget 2018 is £1500 pa £125 calendar month £28.84 pw for 3 adults0
