Sky Warranty Warning

Hi,

I realise that this has been discussed before, but with very little detail on the people involved. It would be good to collate all of the useful information in one place, without the long tales in between. Please add any numbers / aliases here for the benefit of all.

Basically, a company (or number of companies / company names) are calling to sell you an extended warranty on your Sky equipment, as it has recently expired. Although carefully worded it tries to imply that you are simply renewing what you already had, and this is untrue. Simple questions to the caller will soon reveal that they have no knowledge of what equipment you own, or for how long you have had it.

The company names used include:

Satellite Direct UK
Satlink

Telephone numbers include:

0870 240 2546
01273 771 220

Other references to this scam include:
Herbert Smith
Longrider
Boakes
Thanks in advance,

Steve V
