It's ironic that although our property has no significant structural issues, we still need to demolish most of the internal walls. If the previous owners had left the internal layout alone, we would only have had a small amount of re-modelling. Thing is, they did their weird, wasteful corridors in solid block, not stud work.

As someone who hates waste, I've been uncomfortable with this, but I can't see an alternative. :(

We're running too late for a full build this year, but I think we can do a lot of the external work/drains etc. Now the barn's secure, we are starting to re-organise our stuff so that it all fits in...somewhere! :)

Edit: That's brilliant alfie, if you have somewhere to go which will accommodate your .. err...lifestyle! :T

?????????? not sure if i understand that one ...;) :rotfl:

Oh Alfie, what a mess! :( Big hugs. Fancy coming up North? ;)

House next door but one to us is for sale, huge and private back garden, great views across to the Mersey and the Welsh hills. We tried to buy it about 25 years ago but couldn't sell our home as buyer's surveyor found subsidence in it. Fixed, but took ages, and why now I'm sweating over selling our lovely old home. Gotta get it on market ASAP.

PM me if any of you want to take a peek - don't want to put details on forum as it's a neighbour.

But when our old home hits the EAs I'll send a link to that happily. We must try get it sorted out soon, including DD1 wants furniture but can't be bothered to sort it out. If it isn't gone soon I'll Freegle it - it's all stuff that came from my family so OH doesn't get a say if he doesn't get the get it to London stuff with DD1 sorted and SOON!

Go Alfie :j I am sorry that it has got to the stage it has however I am delighted to hear that you are being so proactive and not letting them get away with it. Does your new home have space for all the beasts or are they already housed separately?

Yet another day taken up by appointments and various things so no fresh air again :( Tomorrow will be the same :(

Alfie, do you have somewhere to go? It can't be easy finding a place that will be such idylic a setting & with room for all your animals?

That's the main thing - getting somewhere to live as it isn't easy at all.

I hope it all works out fine.

I'm off to bed as didn't get much sleep last night with a hyper, elderly insomniac cat that sleeps all day & yowls all night & sits on yer head when you are trying to sleep.

That is great news Alfie, you have been in my thoughts and I am so glad that you have found a home that means all your animals can be easel accommodated :D

LIR It has been so mild that I am not surprised the flowers are coming out a bit early. Mind you it was chilly here today and I regretted not wearing a warmer sweater.

My cat has been lying in the strangest of positions all night. At the moment he is stretched out on his side with one paw out straight and the other bent so he looks like a superhero :rotfl:

Rummer, mauve squeaker is in super hero pose too, only her back feet are jammed under me ( she likes them squashed) and the leading paw taps my boob, against which it rests, every now and again for a stroke or cuddle.

Its felt like an odd week. TGIF.
