car insurance claim 13months and counting

i had an accident over a year ago now my insurance keep saying they waiting for responses from the other company but how long should it take in the past ive have a claim and was sorted in weeks now this just seems dragging on and nothing seems to be chased untill i ring my insuarnce company apart from chasing them is there anything i can do

Depends what the problems are.

Straight forward claim with no third party can be resolved in weeks. Claims involving third parties, disputed liability, injury claims etc can take years to resolve.

Just keep kicking their backsides about it and make an actual formal written complaint.

Insurers have no issue with dragging their heels to resolve a claim outcome because whist this "we're waiting to hear from the other side" sillyness continues, they are charging you more money at renewal pending the outstanding claim being resolved.
