LLoyds Tsb Lost My Money

Hi All,
Help Required as I don't know what to do now.
April 16th 2007 I went into lloyds tsb and paid off my credit card of several hundred pounds.
A month later i had a call from the credit card company to say that i had missed a payment. I had to make an immediate payment and there was a fe.
I complained to lloyds 2 weeks ago and they said they would chase where the money is.
lloyds then lost the copy of the paperwork (receipt) they had.
I have made several phone calls since and called in twice with no joy. "We are looking into it, Your money will be in the 'ETHER' somewhere"
What can i do to get a result from the bank soon and what can i expect to claim back from them for my out of pocket epences and interest on the money which is still lost somewhere...
Thank You...

I'd say it was more of a complaint for the financial ombudsman. Contact them and once it's been resolved, you should expect the £12 to be refunded.0

You cannot contact the financial ombudsman until you have exhausted a banks internal complaints procedures - if you have not the fo will just send your complaint back to the bank. you are being unreasonable to expect them to have resolved the problem in just two weeks.
are you left short of anything except for the money lost in the ether, which presumably you do not need any more as it was destined to pay off your credit card?0 -
I believe the OP is short of money after having to being forced to make a duplicate payment. I don’t think it is unreasonable to expect the bank to make progress in 2 weeks – this is the time limit Martin suggests before initiating court action. Certainly, you would be fined if 2 weeks late with a payment. However, I would see out the complaints process if you can. DO keep chasing them up. Make sure you record a formal complaint, and get compensation.0

So, I see Compound is off again. Compensation seems to be his obsession!0

Cheers.
I had a call from the bank last night and they said that it could take beween another 4-6 weeks to find my money. It has been 3 weeks already now!!!!
I think I will go down and close all my accounts and issue the court procedings online....
Cheers.....0 -
If you close down your accounts then what are they going to refund it to? That will just add more delay.
Also, what do you expect court proceedings to achieve?0 -
Can I suggest taking the approach I've taken with Lloyds before? Go into the branch, and refuse to leave until they sort it out.
Don't be rude - I was very polite the whole time, just told them that I wouldn't leave without my money (£300 disappeared from my account into one of their 'collection' accounts - they had debited my account by mistake, but said it would take 4-6 weeks to retrieve the funds). Funnily enough, after having me sitting them for 30 mins, the 4-6 weeks miraculously became 10 minutes as the Manager made a call and the money was put back in my account.0
