No, you don't say!!
Nobody lends money for free. You can be 100% positive that if someone is lending you money or directing you to a lender, they will be making money somehow. What will your verse be?

Why use loan spotter ?
If your after a loan speak to your own bank, dont pay money for a loan that wont materialise.0 -
They deducted £54 from my account without my consent and it was hell trying to get it back.
BEST OPTION WAS TO CALL THE FINANCIAL OMBUDSMAN WHO KNOW THEY VERY WELL AND WILL GET YOUR REFUND.Hi guys
My friend just sent me this email, wondered if anyone can suggest anything?
Applied for a small loan online, had a company call me called loan spotter. I thought they were going to help me, so agreed and stupidly gave my bank details. I then changed my mind, told them I was not interested, hung up the phone, and now they have taken £59.99 out of my bank. My bank cannot help me as I willingly gave my bank details
I’ve tried called the number on their site, which is not working
I am so upset and feel so stupid x
Thanks to anyone who replies x0 -
I told the Financial Ombudsman all the grief they gave me and they got me my full refund back. FSA know this company very well..I'm aware I'm late posting to this thread but just got a call from this crowd (Loan Spotter) and they are just unbelievable. I specifically and clearly asked them from the outset if they charged a fee and was told "no we are definitely not a broker and don't charge fees for our service". Unfortunately for the woman on the other end of the phone I was sat in front of my laptop at the time, googled them while we were talking and .... there it is! Obviously I didn't give them my bank or card details but I can see why people might do if they are less cynical than I am.
Yes you can claim the fee back as the previous post highlights but it has to be done in writing and takes up to 30 days! I would suggest if you are desperate enough to use these companies, 30 days is a long time to wait for your £60 to be refunded. In fact it isn't a full refund is it as they skim a fiver off it for their admin costs. I don't know why the FSA allows these types of companies to continue operating. They are so clearly dodgy and I wonder if anyone actually does ever get a loan through them? I've yet to read anything positive about them anyway.0 -
Not necessarily, they are well know by the FSA who will get you your full refund if you call them and tell them your bad experiences with this company.iolanthe07 wrote: »they skim a fiver off it for their admin costs
They're allowed to do this under FSA rules.0 -
Wish I would have read this before I called them - it took me 3 months to get my money back. DON'T GIVE THEM YOUR BANK DETAILS. They deducted £54 from my account without my consent and it was hell trying to get it back.

Just so long as I don't want much.0 -
i received a call about 10mins ago from loan spotter. They offered me a loan. i asked were they a broker. I was told they were a lender and keep it all in house. I was accepted and put through to manager for finalising the loan. He very quickly asked for bank card details. I was at my laptop so i did a search of the company and found this page. Upon reading this i refused to give any more details and told him i didn't want to proceed with loan. When he asked me why i told him i've seen there is a fee. He admitted there was a arrangement fee for the loan. But said that as i didn't want to proceed he would have to refuse me the loan and this would be on my credit file.
So firstly thank you for stopping me give details over to them
secondly why are they allowed to place on my credit file i was refused when it was me that declined the loan.
Thanks for reading this0 -
They can't put anything on your credit file. They haven't done a search on you and wouldn't - they would have just passed your details on. It was his last ditch attempt to get your money.
Best thing to do was run away. Good job! Some days, it's just not worth chewing through the leather straps....

Just had a call from this so called company with in house lenders told me I had been accepted for a loan. Kept saying they needed my card details. I told the bloke I needed to confirm who they were. He told me that I could do know but if I put the phone down to him I would loose the loan and have a black mark out against my credit file. I started asking who the lender was and all his reply was in
House. At the same time I asked his what the repYments were to his response was how much can you afford. Very odd as he should be telling me terms .again he said he needed my card details to confirm who I was. At this point I put the phone down. They called a further 3 times intimidating me to give details or my credit file would be marked. Marked for what I have not done anything. I will be forwarding information onto financial ombudsmen.0
