    Post 1998 loans would be handled under the Sale of Student Loans Act 2008. I don't think they will be allowed to change the terms under which you originally signed the loan. It should be a case of transferring who owns the loan. I suspect Student Loans Company will still be administrators for the loans due to the complexity of the tax system and how it would work to divide up who is due what especially if one portion of the loan is sold and another part isn't. Repayers should not see much of a difference on who they contact.
