Hi,
I went through this a few weeks ago and expresso and others kindly got me online. I used a 63 digit code taken from the recommended website...
But it kept going down on me and eventually wouldn't work. My PC is abit old and temperamental and as I ordered a new laptop I thought I'd wait and see. Well, I'm on my laptop now and the router simply will not talk to PC or laptop if security is enabled.
I'm sure I did it correctly, otherwise why would it have worked originally.
Please can someone help me find the simplest possible way to protect my connection from people. I virtually only use the internet for MSE and eBay and I don't exactly have any official secrets on my PC so I guess I don't need it to be Fort Knox.
Please help!

Have you made sure the encryption type wpa-psk/tkip and the key match the router. Hook it up with a wire, and copy and past e the key from the router config screen into the wireless config of the laptop.Ever get the feeling you are wasting your time? :rolleyes:0

I'll just do it on my laptop but I've done it a million times on the PC already. I've even reset the key umpteen times.
The router didn't come with much of a manual and what was there was evidently translated from 'foreign' so it's been you guys helping me through this!Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

Right! I've changed the key on the laptop and it's working.
But how do I re-enter the key on the PC? How do I get to the right area to do it, I mean, please?Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

Is the wireless icon different on the PC?
It's usually like this
right click on your wireless network icon, view available wireless networks, change advanced settings, wireless networks, highlight your ssid, properties, connection. Make sure "connect when this network is in range" is ticked. Click OK, advanced, make sure Access point (Infrastrucure) networks only is selected, and automatically connect to non-preferred networks is unticked.Ever get the feeling you are wasting your time? :rolleyes:0
