PSP connect to wifi netwok need a WPA Key? help please :S

Hi,
I'm trying to connect a PSP to my wifi network. The PSP is requesting a WPA Key. For my wireless network I only have a WEP Key I have inputed this into the PSP under WEP and WPA but no it says.

A connection error has occured.
A connection to the access point could not be established.
Check the security settings for the network and try again.

I've looked in a few help forums but they haven't been much help.
I assume I need to know my WPA key which I have no idea what it is.

I'm on a wanadoo livebox network.

Any advice greatly appreciated.
thank you :D

You only have one or the other. I'd suggest you change your wireless network up to WPA encryption as WEP isn't all that secure and can be cracked in minutes by anyone who wanted to.

Wanadoo will normally provide you with a key. It should be in the box that came with the Livebox. If you can't find it, you can reset it with a new one; https://www.grc.com/passwords.htm

Change the key within the Livebox to WPA. WEP is insecure.

Is the default wep key on the bottom of the livebox?

I have a livebox, about 18months old, and on the sticker on the bottom it says WEP key: xxxxxxxxx etc. However, The default setting is WPA security - i.e if you set it up using their CD then you probably have WPA set up.
It also has MAC address filtering so you need to 'associate' the device with the livebox. You need to press button 1 on the back which puts the livebox into pairing mode for about 10 minuteswhile you enter the key from the sticker on the bottom.

    thanks for your replies.

My livebox is nearly 2years old. the default WEP key is on the bottom. That is the code I use when setting the box up. I installed it from the CD but I have no idea where the WPA key is?

the PSP tells me that my network is WPA.

I've just gone into mylivebox settings and selected WEP only for security (because that is the code I have) tried my PSP it recognises the network as WEP but still won't accept the connection :-S

    any other advice?

The codes you can make up, you don't have to use the one on the bottom. So put in a new wpa key, save it, then enter that into the psp

What I was trying to say is that although the sticker says WEP key, the box actually uses WPA - on the configuration page of my livebox it says 'WEP security key: '.
If you use the software that came with it to connect with your PC or Laptop, you should have an Inventel symbol on the taskbar at the bottom right of the screen. Double click this, it should bring up a list of available wireless networks that the wireless adapter can see.
On the right side of this window it should have a security logo -mine says security WPA.
Therefore to connect what you need to do is enter the same key into the PSP once you have pressed button 1 on the livebox to put it into pairing mode
