Do Specsavers give refunds?

I had my first (and last) eye test at Specsavers about a month ago. I ordered two pairs of glasses that cost £125, but had to go back because they were making me feel awful - I just couldn't wear them.

So I had another test with a different optician who changed the prescription and so they fitted new lenses.

Although they seemed OK in the shop, when I started wearing them they are still making me feel dizzy and sick and I cannot see as clearly as with my old ones:mad:

I am totally fed up with them and really would just like to get my money back and go elsewhere.

They do state this, quote:

“We want you to be completely happy with your purchase at Specsavers. If you have any concerns within three months of the date of purchase, we will put it right. No quibble, no fuss.”

However, this does not specifically say that you can get a refund does it? Just that they will put it right, whatever that means - how many times does it take for them to get it right?

Please does anybody know? Has anybody actually succeeded in getting their money back from Specsavers?

I would go back and make them put them right, you could ask for a refund, that may not happen but I would press for this.

I do not go to Specsavers any more, they are rubbish, I had lenses once that were just slightly out of place and caused dizziness, the staff who dealt with me, all 4 of them !!, told me that
"you have not given them enough time, you will get used to them".

I have wore specs since I was 8, I know when lenses are wrong, it turned out the lense on the right was slightly off and the optician who gave me a second eye test (I made them do this) also said the lenses were wrong anyway as I had a cataract that the first optician did not pick up on! what a waste of money.

I got a new pair of specs from them and had my cataracts done thanks to the second optician.

I will never use them again.
give them a very wide berth.

They might refund you for the frames but not the lenses. The lenses have been made from a prescription supplied by you so they have no liability for them. Do you intend to go back to the second optician as well to get a refund on the lenses?

I cant answer about the refund but keep on going back and say they arent suitable, if your any good at it you might get it sorted on your first attempt. It took me an abysmal (not 1 for sticking to my guns) 5/6 visits to get my latest pair sorted.

I tried wearing them all morning at work, but they gave me a terrible headache and I felt quite sick and dizzy.

I will phone them again next week. Trouble is that every time I have to go there it is a 20 mile round trip - so to take them and then collect again is 40 miles, plus parking costs:mad:

Have decided that they are never going to get these right for me to wear all day at work. Perhaps I could just get them to put in the prescription lenses for reading glasses, which I don't wear very much at all.

Makes me mad though that it has cost me £125 - I would never spend that much on reading glasses.

I will NEVER get an eye test or buy glasses from Specsavers again - lesson learnt.

Yes they can and do give refunds. Depends on situation. In my case they were 100% at fault...
    Specsavers: long story very short:
I got my 1st pair of glasses in Belfast, but after a few uses I wasn't convinced the prescription was correct for the left eye. Took the glasses back to Coleraine to get them checked and lo and behold, they were wrong!:eek: The staff were really good and got them sorted for me within half an hour.
That weekend I got sent a customer satisfaction survey, so overall Belfast ended up with :( instead of :) The branch manager called me up to discuss what happened... and refunded me my glasses!! :D:D (plus I was still entitled to my free pair!!;))

Could I use SOGA to try and get a refund? They have had two goes at getting the lenses right and the glasses are still not fit for purpose.

Why not give it a try, speak to the manager or assistant manager who can do refunds.
