    the police were in the wrong to say it was illegal though - he wasn't soliciting in a public place, he ordered her over the phone apparently, and prostitution in the UK isnt illegal. So, shame on the police. SHAME!

    Is that the only element of solicitation that is illegal? I always assumed that any type of solicitation for purposes of exchanging money for $ex was illegal; despite the fact that the actual exchange of money for it is perfectly fine.
