UKPC parking chages

Hello, Im looking for some advise.
Im a self employed Courier/Man and Van. On the 4/5/2013 I was delivering some boxes to a shop it had no loading bay so I parked in the main car park. My van is quite long so I always park across two bays so my van is not overhanging and causing an obstruction to other users.
The part of the car park I parked in was not busy, I was only away 10mins max, when I returned UKPC had ticketed me.
The reason for the ticket. Not parked correctly within the markings of the bay or space.
I have had my second letter now with a pic included of my van parked across two bays for £90.
Im a member of a transport forum and on there they are telling me to ignore all letters and put in the bin.
I just don't now what to do, any info would be appreciated.
Thanks Kenny

Your 'transport forum' info would have been good advice up to 6 months ago - and to be fair ignoring it is still an option because if you don't mind ignoring scary debt collector letters then you are 'probably' safe from a small claim being made because UKPC don't do Court.
Also if in Scotland the advice IS still to ignore.
But in England/Wales we advise appealing and then winning with a strong POPLA appeal. The reason the advice changed was partly because some PPCs (who never did Court before and were ignored for years) have started randomly sending small claims to some people who ignored fake PCNs last year. And also because we know how to word appeals that currently win at POPLA (read up on it, applies in England Wales only).
As you now have the first Notice in the post, you should challenge it now (if it's a fake PCN on the windscreen we always say WAIT for the first postal notice to keeper which is what you've done so that's good).
This thread explains what to do and has short or long 'first challenge' examples with give nothing away:
http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/...a#post61647745
Do not say who was driving, write the first challenge as shown, either a short or a longer one, not talking about 'what happened' either.
At POPLA stage you'll need a different stronger appeal so read other threads & learn from them in readiness but do ask for help before POPLA stage.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
