How long on average do Halifax PPI claims take

I have recently (5 weeks ago), opened a PPI claim with Halifax (it was with Aqua card but Halifax supplied the PPI).
Just wondered how long on average these things actually take. I know the website says up to 8 weeks, but all I have had since opening the claim is an acknowledgement letter and had no correspondence since. I know it sounds silly (and naive), but I expected some kind of correspondence. Sorry, I know I probably sound really stupid but I have never done this before and so I feel a bit lost.

    The website is correct.
Don't hold them to the exact number of days though, you'll probably receive a letter sometime in the ninth week.
You've had an acknowledgement and no other correspondence will be sent in the meantime.

Just had a call from Halifax. Asking pretty standard questions relating to my claim, but started asking if I remember if I spoke to a man or woman and other such questions. Get the feeling they were trying to catch me out. Apparently will have a decision in the next two weeks.

I had the same phone from them last year and had a letter two days later saying they have rejected my PPI claim. I appeal there decision in writing and over the phone and they rejected me again for the same reason. So right, I took this to the FOS and they upheld my decision. They back tracked and so quickly and Halifax accepted the FOS initial findings. Dont be suprised if Halifax reject your PPI claim, it pretty standard for them to reject people.
