Is it just me or is Scottish Power service seriously deteriorating ?

Is there still a Scottish Power rep on these boards ??
I think we have to assume not !
I suggested on posting #1 of this thread that I'd like to hear from him/her and the silence has bee deafening.
Re SP meter reading dates. For supply customers they'll email asking for a meter reading when they want it and give you a 2 week 'window' to report else they'll use an estimated reading (and they have some very creative estimators ! :rotfl:)
For FIT readings, they claim they'll accept a new. reading any time more than 80 days from last reading. Although on 1st April last year they decided they'd like to pay me straightaway (only six weeks after previous payment) and asked me to submit next reading on my 'normal' reading date (i.e. 15th May). I expected they'd have done the same this year but they acknowledged a reading after dark on 31st March then ignored that in favour of their estimate that I would have generated another 192kWh before dawn on 1st April :mad:NE Derbyshire.4kWp S Facing 17.5deg slope (dormer roof).24kWh of Pylontech batteries with Lux controller BEV : Hyundai Ioniq50 -

I guess that they must reckon that there were either three Januarys or two Februarys this year then... not what you could classify as a 'minor administrational error' .... I would hope that it's not a deliberate policy to bank the extra kWh at the previous year's lower tariff rate, that would be devious wouldn't it .... don't you just love the ideas which come to beancounters in their dreams .... zzzzz,££££,zzzzz ....

I would have thought (hoped ?) that RECs are just making FIT payments on behalf of HMG so any 'saving' that fiddle offered ought to be a saving to government rather than to SP.
Errors through incompetence are far more believable than an ultra-sophisticated manoeuvreNE Derbyshire.4kWp S Facing 17.5deg slope (dormer roof).24kWh of Pylontech batteries with Lux controller BEV : Hyundai Ioniq50 -

I would have hoped so too, but from direct experience I have often been amazed at what beancounters dream up to maximise margins, after all, above a certain level of seniority, that's all they're employed to do ...:D

You want dreams, I've got dreams!
Had to ring EDF today anyway, as I got my bill. Estimated yearly bill £750, no debt, and lower consumption than similar quarter last year. So the bill confirmed that my £74 DD is to be .......... yep you've got it ........ increased to £79. Perhaps they think there are 10 months (or perhaps 9.49) in a year. They couldn't explain why this had happened, but all sorted, and DD revised.
So, buoyed by this I spoke to the FITs team and asked why so much post April gen had been moved to pre April. This is how it works.
They took my generation reading in late June. Divided it by the number of days, and applied that average to the days in Mch after my last reading. Anybody spot the 'accidental' mistake?
I pointed out that I didn't generate as much in Mch as Apr to June, but they said this was approved by OFGEM. Next I said I couldn't generate that in 2 days, but they said it was 3 days, as reading submitted on 29th Mch. This reminded me of what Eric had said. I pointed out that their reading acknowledgement e-mail was at 7pm at night ..... but it doesn't matter.
So the 62p is irrelevant, but they get to apply 2 interesting rules, meter reading days don't include the day you send it in, and Mch gen is the same as Apr to June.
Live and learn, and learn about beancounters dreams too it appears.

Never actually had a response to my suggestion but I did propose to SP that I stopped sending in readings and let them estimate 192kWh /day for the rest of the contract.
Seemed a reasonable offer to me; expecting their acceptance any day soon (but not holding breath)

Hi All
Well, another day another screw-up by SP ....
Following on from the issue as described earlier the self billing invoice arrived today .... completely wrong, they've totally ignored the actual readings submitted for end March & end June, substituting estimated readings for both ... not surprisingly over estimating the former (pre tariff change) reading and well underestimating the latter ... on top of this the invoice formatting is incorrect in that readings are printed as past dates ... looks like it's generated in a poorly constructed spreadsheet and no one has even given it a cursory quality 'once-over' to check for errors.
Anyway, after a 40minute telephone 'technical' conversation which confirmed that the actuals were submitted and appear on the system they seem to understand how unprofessional they are looking .... expecting a call-back tomorrow ...

Well I got my self-bill invoice today and the reading and amount is exactly right. I'm sure that (as in my recent contretemps) they'll insist on offering you a compensation payment. But in case they forget to offer, you should ask !NE Derbyshire.4kWp S Facing 17.5deg slope (dormer roof).24kWh of Pylontech batteries with Lux controller BEV : Hyundai Ioniq50 -
Sort of excited (but sort of wary too in view of the problems others have experienced).
Just sent in my first reading (4 kw system went live 08/04/13) of 1655.84 (hope I've got that right - the site didn't want the decimal point). Works out that is exactly 100 days since installation so not bad. Hope I don't experience the same problems some of you have had. On their site it says the FIT payment should be paid within 28days unless last reading was more than 90 days ago. Fingers crossed.0
