If so could you by any chance tell me which would be the cheapest train to use to get into weston super mare(or as close as possible) from manchester.#
My folks want to come and visit but cant afford the prices I have found
(just like the rest of us)!!!!
£38 single each is the cheapest I have found but I am no good with trains and I am finding it very difficult to split the journey (as in other threads) because I only moved here a couple of months ago and dont know the area well enough.
Any help would be very much appreciated
Thanks

Perhaps a split at Birmingham

Problem is caused by Virgin using ridiculously small trains and a crazy pricing policy. Yes, we all plan our rail trips Months in advance and can be flexible with when we travel! Splits normally work for day trips or avoiding London commuter prices, but a random check suggests the Birmingham split might be worth trying, and also try with an additional split at Bristol Temple Meads. Much easier when I was in Poland, straightforward fare according to distance travelled.0

Manchester to Bristol Parkway or Temple Meads (1 change at Birmingham) £12 single
Bristol Parkway or Temple Meads to Weston £5 single
Total for trip is £34 but these tickets are all advance singles so must be booked ahead of time
You can also do it by changing at Newport or Cardiff instead of Birmingham and then changing at Filton Abbey Wood
Manchester to Newport £10 single
Newport to Weston (changing at Filton Abbey Wood) £11 single
Total for trip is £42 but these tickets are all advance singles so must be booked ahead of time
I am sure if I went back on and put the same trips in, it would give me a different price!0 -
I always use qjump.co.uk - not the best site in the world to look at, but if you learn how to use it, it can be good. Top tip: use the 'try single fares' link when you are looking at return trip prices!0
