How would a mortgage offer be confirmed by the lender?

    In the past, it was possible for some lenders to fax (I sound old - email) offers to solicitors when exchange was pending.

    If you're not in a manic rush to exchange, I would not worry
    We often email a copy of the offer to the solicitor, but invariably, as happened this morning, I get an email back from the solicitor saying;-

    "please can you let me have a COT?"

    they don't really get what we can and can't do, TBH.

    The OP is waiting for an offer to come through the post not knowing if one has actually been issued.

    Once his contact confirms it has been, the OP can reasonably expect it to arrive in a few days time.
