How would a mortgage offer be confirmed by the lender?

Hi,
Sorry for the ambiguous title....
I gave a call to my mortgage adviser yesterday and he confirmed he will offer the mortgage before 5pm.
Till now, I didnt receive any email or phone call from him and I am a bit worried (we have a really tight deadline for the entry date and other stuff to be prepared before that).
I am just wondering, how would the lender confirm that they will make the formal mortgage offer to us? Is it by email or by post?
Thank you.

The formal mortgage offer is produced and the originals are mailed to you and the solicitor.
Your broker may have access to an electronic copy he can email to you and the solicitor, if needed.I am a mortgage broker. Thanks. I didnt use a broker. I made my application directly with a mortgage adviser in the branch.
I think I will wait for another day. I will give them a call tomorrow if I still hear nothing from them.....0 -
In which case, I expect you will get your offer through the mail alone. It would be helpful if your contact had actually confirmed if the case has been offered first though.I am a mortgage broker. Probably. Unless stuff is sent "special delivery" it goes through normal mail and at the other end, it waits in the queue to be scanned and added to the case.I am a mortgage broker. In the past, it was possible for some lenders to fax (I sound old - email) offers to solicitors when exchange was pending.
If you're not in a manic rush to exchange, I would not worrySo many glitches, so little time...0 -
It took Nationwide 3 weeks to send our documents out in the post, after issuing an offer.
The time scale was:
Friday - application put in
Wednesday - survey carried out
Friday - text received saying mortgage offer given, and broker e-mailed us PDF of the offer
So 1 week from application to mortgage offer. But then it took 3 weeks until the paper copies were received by us and our solicitor.
Perhaps get them to fax it if it's urgent?0
