Overlimit and Credit File

Hi All,

Hoping someone can shed some light. A few days ago I went over my credit limit on my Barclaycard. Once I realised this was promptly brought back into the green. This is the first time I have ever gone over the limit on any credit account.

Will this be shown on my credit file, as a missed payment etc or am I being paranoid?

Thanks

  • It really all does depend on when Barclaycard update to the credit referece agencies. They do not provide daily or real time information.

Chances are you'll be OK. You'd have to be really unlucky for it to show up.

  • Thanks, however, it was statement day (interest applied was what tipped it). I'm not overly concerned about the balance being shown on the file but will they record the acount suddently as 'unsatisfactory' or 'missed paymnet'?
