Finally got around to using Martins energy saving club, quite a revelation.
I simply entered the exact forecast of my energy usage that my present supplier had given on the last bill, rather than actual usage.
They should know by now as we have been with them for 3 years.
So, dual fuel and paid monthly by direct debit and the results were an expected annual saving of £182 on my bill of around £1500.
The new supplier, :T, Npower
The old supplier, :eek::eek::eek: Npower
Lesson learn't yet again.;);)

I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.
Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)

It can often be quite simple to save money consulting a comparison site to find the best tariff for you ... and that may well be with the same supplier.
Such a situation is certainly not unique to nPower.
The other advantage of simply switching tariff is that the supplier can usually arrange that with immediate effect (as opposed to the typical 4-6 weeks a supplier change would take)0 -

because they are a business, however new rules coming in are soon to change itDon't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.0

I made the comment assuming that regulation had already been brought in;), we have heard so much about it recently, when does it come into effect?I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.

Ever been to HMV? They often have the identical product on sale for two different prices in their store. They don't have to tell you.
DC has not yet made it law for energy providers to put you on their lowest tariff, despite making promises to force them to do so. It'll be interesting what such law actually ends up saying ... if it ever makes it onto the statute books.0 -

There was a commons debate on the energy bill within the last few days.
Not sure when it comes into effect ... or really what will be in the final wording.0 -

The old adage caveat emptor (Buyer beware) still holds good and probably always will. Like Wywth I'm (increasingly) cynical as to "Dave & Nicks" promises of action. They can't even keep their own pledges so what chance do we have of them ensuring others act for our interests rather than their own?
I'm certainly no supporter of Npowers business methods but, to be fair, as others have said they aren't actually doing anything here that many other suppliers dont. As they used to say on that amateur detective / murder show trust no one, suspect everyone0 -
Incredibly, there is actually a worse thing than putting your trust into your energy supplier and that is putting your trust into this 'Govt'. My avatar is now very old but I see no reason to change it.0

Don't get me wrong, I'm not normally behind the door when it comes to services and insurance, but in this case there has been so much media talk about this, I wrongly trusted "Dave" and assumed it was in place, or that a moral, :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:< agreement had been made with the suppliers, but hey ho:D
While I'm here, every year without fail when we get out motor insurance renewal by post we run it though as a new online quote, and without fail for the last 5 or 6 years, it has been at least 10% cheaper for each of us.
Today, the house and contents renewal arrived, again ran it through online with the same company, like for like even down to the Zero excess I require, and it's a full £50 cheaper.
And when you ring them up there is no argument or disagreement, they simply match it and treat you to the new customer bonus, yep, that's the price of loyalty:A:A:AI like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.

Hi, sorry to bust in, but the govt won't force energy companies to give customers their lowest tariff, because the idea was blown out of the water by an 'energy' minister as soon as it was suggested, in a moment of panic by the PM. Simply stated, if energy suppliers are required to give their lowest rates to everyone, it effectively means every tariff, bar the lowest one, is rendered null and void. Rather than a range of tariffs, there will be just one, per energy company. The energy companies will then hoik the tariff up, to compensate for losing the customers at the higher rates. Ironically, we would all be worse off.
Basically, the lower tariffs exist because suppliers can afford them, given many continue to pay the higher ones. We need to let people discover the lowest rates of their own volition. If someone can afford a higher rate: so be it. We get a lower rate, because the higher ones compensate for it.0
