oh god what can i do we need to sell ASAP........
If they've really not done what they promised you may be able to exit the contract without penalty. Other posters may have opinions as to this, but your local CAB or Law Centre might be a good bet for specific advice.
In the interim, as long as your contract is "Sole Agency" rather than "Sole Selling Agency" you can market it privately. When I sold our last place privately I found that Houseladder and Monkeymove generated the most quality leads. Cost me just under £150 in total and no estate agent fees.0 -
Surely the EA is in breach of contract, and you have right to break the contract since they have broken their side of the agreement?
Local law centre would be good. Tell the EA that you are consulting the Office of Fair Trading also perhaps.Errors of opinion may be tolerated where reason is left free to combat it. - Jefferson0 -
Your agent should be up front and honest with you. Many are, but some are not as good as they can be.
You can use sites like this: http://www.roea.co.uk/ which will hopefully hold agents to account and cause them to provide a better service, and do the things that they say they are going to do.
A permanent bad reputation may be worth more to them than the £700 of 'advertising' they claim they are going to do.0 -
hi all
well went to a viewing of a house that my EA are selling and we are not interested in it, anyway got hold of my EA (not by the throat) i wish.... and asked straight out "what the hell are you doing" he went very red and could not look at me and just kept saying sorry sorry, its the girls in the office, so he promised me it would be on line this morning, and it was, but there;s another twist in this story, after viewing the house yesterday i rang the EA and asked to view another 2 properties they are selling, one of his staff started arranging times ect. to view then she said sorry can you hold the line, she came back and said wait for it "due to me not having any interest in my house, really i should not be looking at other properties" can you believe this idiot, everyone i have spoken to yesterday and today told me to get rid, how the hell are we going to look for a property if i cannot view any on his books, i am starting to feel this EA has a problem with me and were getting paranoid, what do you think? any thing?0
