Ryanair Baggage Charges

Hi Folks,
Not sure if this is in the right forum or not so if a mod needs to move it then please do.
My query is regarding Ryanair I was informed that if I did not pre-book baggage at the time of the flights I could add it on later and it would be cheaper. Sounded a bit iffy at the time but a work colleague assured me this was the case.
So after paying for my flights, I have left it 10 days and as I fly out in 14 days I thought lets do the online check in and add baggage, But Ryanair appear to be at their old tricks again and are looking for £10 extra per bag are they allowed to do this? It seems below the belt to me.
I booked 5 flights at the time and left baggage off them all as I wanted to pay by debit card rather than credit card also and there was the added benefit of what my friend had told me.
Any hints and suggestions welcome on what I can do.

I am afraid there is nothing you can do, i have never heard of it being cheaper to add bags later, if that were true, surely everyone would do it, just add the bags you need now, you say 5 of you are travelling so i would say, 2 maybe three hold bags should be plenty, you can all take cabin bags.0

Cahillg81, perhaps you can collect the extra money from your work colleague, as the information they supplied seems to be at fault.0
