We've just had our mortgage offer accepted by Halifax but it's not due to be completed till November when the house is built. We've been advised they still do credit checks throughout the process but we wanted to transfer our existing credit card debt to a 0% but not sure if this will affect the mortgage offer.
Any advise would be appreciated
Thanx

They did a full search on us at time of mortgage offer - they then did a soft search about 7 days later - someone told me they also did a full search at time of completion but that didn't happen with us.
Hope this helps.Never argue with an idiot. Especially not this idiot because I'm always right anyway.0 -
I would play it safe and make no more credit applications until after completion.0

I don't see how transferring the debt can do any harm if it doesn't result in higher total credit available (i.e. if you apply for a new card, the old card gets closed after the transfer).0
