Anomalies on my credit report+ advice on credit repair needed

I've just received my Experian credit report and it says I am not on the electoral register. I've been registered on the electoral roll at the same address for 9 years now and always return my forms in time.
Equifax has the correct electoral details.
Do I have to wait for 28 days for them to update it?
SHould I put a note of correction on my file that I can provide proof of being on the ER?
ALso my main bank account is missing. Are they allowed to leave accounts out?
I was wandering if I should take a credit card to improve my score?
If so what would be a sensible credit limit? My earnings are very low (£12k a year).
At the moment I have access to £500 overdraft which I use every month (and pay off).
Wouldn't access to £1000 credit actually look bad in my case?
Thank you in advance for your advice:)

You should send Experian the proof that you're on the electoral roll. If you add a notice of correction that means your applications will have to be manually checked.
Not all banks report to all credit reference agencies, but Experian is the most popular so it does seem odd that they don't. Who do you bank with? You should contact your bank and Experian to find out what's going on. If any of your details don't match (DOB for example), that could be the reason for it not appearing.
If you get a credit card and pay it off in full, on time every month, it's unlikely that lenders will frown upon that. I would try and get the problems you're having resolved before applying for credit though. What will your verse be?
