I know - I mean they should just make him get the Airport Shuttle bus to the Europa!!!

Seriously we get to host one of the biggest events in the western world with incredible publicity and business worth 10's of millions into the local economy and all people can do is gurn about the traffic for one day! Get a grip :mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:

Have heard this repeated a lot, business worth millions but where is it coming from and going to?A lot of self important people fly in and prevent mere mortals going about their normal day,block roads ,delay flights,so where comes the millions from? Usual answer is tourism but I doubt people will flock here because obama did.If you take out the cost of security I think it will cost this little place a lot more than we benefit....

We need to rise above our parochial way of thinking, this is the President of the USA.

We can live with one day/morning of minor disruption. People really need to catch a grip and look around at the global significance of these events, so what we have to sit in traffic for a while.

We have put up with traffic disruption, diversions etc for over 30 years we can do at least one morning for a couple of hours.

I can see both sides to this. In the end it will only be a few hours disruption but I am not convinced of the supposed benefits this will bring to Northern Ireland.

Lets face it, enniskillen got the nod because its in the !!!!-end of nowhere and this means the crusty type eurotrash protesters will be unlikely to turn up in numbers. That leaves dissident Provos who no doubt will embarrass themselves in some way.

Btw this is not disrespecting enniskillen at all as its a lovely area that I love staying in. Killyhevlin leads the way. I just don't think tourists look at a g8 summit location and say they will go there. If anything the negative publicity regarding idiotic protests etc could out weigh the positives.

Ps regarding pres Obama and the others why not chopper them everywhere and reduce the road closures?

We've seen multiple squadrons of helicopters flying over this week.
Hoping to see the Blackhawks with the Obama helicopters!
Much more exciting than a load of suits talking rubbish.
