N power electricity problems
Hi There,
I am new to Money Saving Expert and the world of these forums, so i hope somebody can help me.
I have big problems with N Power and don't know where to turn next. Just over two years ago we had some major work done on our property. There was a period of about 3 1/2 months when we were not in the property as it was inhabitable, there was nobody in the property for the whole period apart from builders excavating the drive, garden and building walls on an extension, none of which used power from the property.
Over this period N Power are telling me to pay a bill for over £1400!! when there was not electricity used. I have sent them over 10 letters, 10 emails, and i have had various stories told to me by various members of staff as to why this invoice is correct - none of which can be true as there was simply nobody in the property.
I have had the metre checked by N power - and they are saying, as they would that all is okay, i have also been to the Ombudsman who have not really listened to the facts.
I have even provided N Power with Council Tax Statements which show no occupancy for the period.
This is starting to upset me and my family and i really don't know where to go next.
N Power are now threatening a warrant to get into my property to issue a pre paid metre and then chase the payment, again and again.
I will not pay for electric that has not been used, and yet N Power are now bullying us with threats.
Please can someone advise on next steps, or has anyone had a similar situation with them and how they have approached the matter.
Thanks

If the ombudsman has failed to uphold your complaint, then that only leaves you the option of court.
Perhaps you could use the opportunity when the supplier applies for a warrant to put your side to the judge ... but I don't hold out much hope of your success, sorry.0 -
"Over this period n'power are telling me to pay a bill for over £1400"
Have you not had an actual bill for this amount that shows the Dates & Meter readings to justify this amount ?
If you have please post those dates & readings - If not demand that n'power produce a detailed bill.0
