You haven't allowed anything for petrol/fares/travel. Do you carry food to work or have to pay for it at work - if so, is that included in your housekeeping amount?diva_darling! wrote: »Hi All,

Mobil Phone £35 can you reduce this at all by going PAYG or changing supplier? I'm not saying you should, but if it can be done the OR might think you should do it.
Housekeeping 205 does this include food?
Clothing/footwear 50
Dentist/Opticians £25 (contacts paid in bulk cheaper than monthly)
Prescriptions 8
Hairdressing 15*
Internet £20 unless you can justify use of the internet by eg home study, I'd try to split the cost for this amongst other things to hide it.
Holidays/Emergencies £45
£927

This post by Richard_S might give you an idea about expenses you may not have thought about.

Obviously, a lot of it might be disallowed as an expense, and you would be expected to pay for them out of the money the OR leaves you after essentials.
Hope that helps

I 'lumped' my telephone, mobile & internet all together in one figure. Hiding some of it in household expenditure

That's hidden in my household expeniture - I'd never spend that much on food and stuff but that seems to be the norm of what people have put down!0 -

Thing is that would total about £75 - what do you think would be the top figure I could get away with? Give me an idea of how much I'd need to hide in household expenditure!0 -
If you look here at the 'trigger figures', it will give you an idea of the amounts that are allowed without being questioned. I wouldn't rely on the 'discretionary' category at the bottom of the list/table, as it's exactly that & ORs will interpret that differently.

I would suggest sererating your holiday & emergencies as sometimes holidays arent allowed & you don't want to loose it all.BSC Member 59 - AD 29th March 2008
