No7 3 bb balms or bronzers etc for £3 ish, back on again

Bought 3 BB creams and accidentally pressed the wrong button and paid for them with points before I'd put my £16 worth of vouchers through. Called SA over to say I'd paid with points by accident and could he do a refund. He took me to manned till to do it and pointed out I couldn't use all my vouchers (he was going to do my transaction through manned till). I said I would just have everything back so I could go and change an item for a nail varnish so I could use a make up voucher too. PANIC ALERT!! I went off and hovered near nail polishes in case he was looking and when I went back to SS tills he was still loitering. Decided just to go for it and managed to do three transactions. When I checked my receipts I found he'd refunded about £6 too much in points!!!!!! Spent £3.42 x3 = £10.26 but got £6.48 in points.
I used till spits that I bought on ebay and the bar codes were very clearly printed so they worked no problem. Till spits received at Metro Centre looked like the printer ink needs changing so they weren't very clear and I couldn't get them to work!!!!
Note to other Bootsers - don't use the SS till on the far left hand side incase your till spit doesn't print very well.
I'm still sweating because I feel guilty doing it but then calm myself down by thinking that Boots could do something about their tills but obviously choose not to. they must realise that they are selling an awful lot of glitch items but not a lot of money is going in the tills!!!0 -

bronzing pearls £9.95
No7 facewipes £7
No7 facewipes £7
one facewipes is free on 342, so that leaves £16.95 to pay, minus your £16 in vouchers = 95p to pay.
Wow! Thanks thats great!!0 -

I can't help but think it's a marketing ploy. It gets people through the door. It gets people buying stuff to get the vouchers in the first place. It gets people buying other stuff whilst they are in the store (not everyone gets just the No7 items). It gets people using the No7 stuff, and hopefully permanently switching to the brand. It gets people talking about the shop and the brand. It's spoken about on here (and places like HUKD) and has been included in the weekly email in the past. And so on.
Think the same about Mr T's 'glitches' too.
But, they probably don't tell staff because they like to maintain the facade that it's all an accident.February wins: Theatre tickets0 -
Hello
I'm not sure if this is about to be stopped as I just tried to buy 2x tinted moisturisers and a bronzing mozaic pallet and the SA said they'd had a memo saying not to accept both £5&£3 vouchers (manned till). The no7 lady did put it through but she said she isn't suppose to anymore.

hmm, this sounds a bit fishy! If the SA had a memo saying not to accept both vouchers, then she is going against company policy by accepting them. I don't think many SAs would do this. I reckon she has sussed both vouchers work together and was trying to put you off using them.0 -
Tried today at a different boots to gt 2 tinted moisturiser and a day cream, SA wouldn't take the till spit and I asked her to try it. She made a big fuss and said the till didn't accept (don't think she tried though ) so just left it. Will try another store next week as won't be near a store again this weekend. Hope it still works then:)Life is a coin, you can spend it anyway you wish, but you can only spend it once.
Go as far as you can see, and when you get there you'll see further.

They do have SS tills in there (upstairs and down) but I find the staff in there are very nosy. Especially the ones working upstairs!0 -
Ahh I was building the courage up to use both parts of my No7 voucher at a manned till on Sunday but the above posts have got me scared againA home without a dog is like a flower without petals.0

I think that is spot on. Before i belonged to the Boots thread on here I barely shopped there. After all the glitches that were my spare bedroom looked like a small Boots branch. The No 7 Stuff is vastly overpriced anyway so what we are paying is not far off the right price.0 -

Oooo thanks, I hadn't thought of that, I'd rather get more skincare now as well tbh!Hello

Don't believe it for a minute, I got that 'memo' rubbish from one SA two days before another SA put them through no trouble, I'm sure some make it up!No Buying Unnecessary Toiletries 2023

I agree - we've been spending £4 at a time to get glossies on stuff we would normally buy in Home Bargains or Poundland. Boots wouldn't have had my custom had it not been for these glitches.0
