Problems with Simply Switch

I used Simply Switch to move (so I thought) from First Utility to Flow Energy on 21/5/13. Because I had not received a welcome pack, today I called FE, to find out that I am not registered with them at all. FE say that the file containing my information arrived with errors, so the file was sent back. I then called SS - they are saying that it is not their fault that there is a problem. I have to say that I dealt with a person at SS who is need of a customer-facing training refresh, and I will not deal with this switching company again.
They (SS) say that they have sent the file again, so now I must wait another 10 days to find out if the transfer was successful.
Has anyone else experienced this kind of behaviour?

Yes. It has been reported that the energy ombudsman says whenever there is a failed switch involving a broker, the excuse is that the file is in the wrong format, incompatible etc.
This usually follows after the excuse of 'we never received it'. Basically, when the supplier gets your switch request, it looks at XOserve & ecoes databases to see if your custom will be profitable* from your consumption history and bin the request if not.
When you complain to simply switch, they go silent. But, put in a complaint to SS and Flow Energy and find out what happens when it goes to the Ombudsman. Note if you ask for an explanation, you may get a payoff instead.
