Car insurance marital status

Getting quotes for car insurance. After reading advice on here I decided to add my partner on to renewal quotes, we've been together for 8 years but don't live together, I presume we are not classed as common law spouses then, but neither are we single, premiums obviously change a lot depending on what's chosen.

Any advice?
Thanks

Based on the standard list you will be considered single, divorced or widowed depending on prior relationships as you neither are married nor living together

Even though you aren't living at the same address, adding on your "friend/partner" as a named driver should still bring down the premium, assuming nothing bad in her history/claims record etc.

Do dummy quotes online with and without to see what difference a named driver makes.

Based on the list we use in work you'd probably be down as partnered, not common law or civil partnership
