What to do ??????????

Just a quick one

My parents who are in their 70's have been in majorca for 4 weeks. They were due to fly back to prestwick tonight (with Ryanair) but their flight has been cancelled due to the french air controllers.

The eariest flight they can get back is not till Monday morning. they are booked on this one.

My question is what can they do about accomodation? Can they claim on their travel insurance or can they claim through Ryanair.

Also would they be entittled to cliam the 4OO euros as compenasation thrugh Ryanair.

Look forward to your replies as they need to move from their room soon.

many thanks in advance

They wont be able to claim the €400 as it is not Ryanairs fault.

They would need to check their travel insurance to see if it covers Industrial Action.

Ryanair has a duty of care so must cover accomodation/meals (within reason) during their delay. Your parents should save all receipts and then make a claim from Ryanair when they get back.

A scribbled receipt is no good either. They only accept printed VAT receipts.
Regardless of where you are staying at present, they only pay for 2 or 3 star accom, and only public transport costs to or from airport.
