I have a quote for £2500 for the below kitchen incl a free Lamona dishwasher. Is it a good deal? It includes handles and softclose hinges

Howdens pass their discounts onto the trades,and in honesty if you have found your fitter that you trust its probable that you will not get a better price unless you opt for a fitter who is prepared to pass any additional discount they get on to you....

What you should be looking at is possibly how much the fitter is charging you to fit the kitchen and adding that figure to the cost of the units etc in order to get an overall indication of if you have a good deal...

A howdens kitchen is what it is..there is a list price for each item...and a discount to the trades,that discount will differ from fitter to fitter dependant on how much work they put howdens way.

Our howdens kitchen in the rental property came in at £2400 or thereabouts but we paid a very good fitter a fair price to fit it well....so bumped the cost up for a quality fit.

The quote is via my fitter. He said he will pass on full discount and even allowed me to negotiate the price directly with Howdens.

Initial quote was £2900. Came down to £2500 and a lamona dishwasher thrown in...

I really couldn't recommend Howdens and definitely not Lamona, in my case I paid £1000 for an oven and it was rubbish. Leaked fat all over the floor everytime I cook with it. I tried both Lamona and Howdens to get it sorted and have been trying for 8 months, they really don't care. Howdens say I have to take it up with the builder, the builder shrugs his shoulders and says its a Lamona warranty issue and Lamona have been rubbish also. Don't buy from these people, find a company that cares about it's customers.

Who did you actually buy the oven from, the builder or Howdens? Your dispute is with the company with whom you had the contract. If it was the builder then ultimately you can sue him and then he has to take up the matter with Howdens.

Most canny builders get their customers to buy the appliances themselves for this very reason.
