OK so everyone knows that Hong Kong is the place to buy cheap electronic goods the question is where in Hong Kong?
I am particularly interested in buying
1) A good quality digital SLR
2) An iphone
3) Cheap electronics that you get on ebay shipped from hongkong
Trying to avoid of the issues of why one camera is better than another and why a samsung is better than an iphone any real advice would be greatfully received.
I will be in HongKong for about 24 hours so I wont have much time to shop around!
Thanks

Have a look at Wan Chai Computer Centre
There's loads of little places around Nathan Road but you need to be very wary in these sort of places, lots of tales of folk being ripped of, I'd stick to the bigger places0 -
Yes, do be VERY careful a lot of bait and switch scams and fake goods, stick to a large reputable place.
We know someone who got done there, ended up buying something thay could have got cheaper here, also the warrenty may not be valid here.0 -

Sad to say, while Hong Kong is the cheapest place in that part of Asia, prices are actually lower in the UK. The exception is if you choose to buy unbranded products, but then you don't have any kind of warranty, nor consumer protection.
See if you can get what you want duty-free when you are leaving the UK. Perhaps you could contact the airport duty-free shops in advance and reserve the products you want.
Either way, remember that if the total value of your purchases exceeds your duty-free limit you will have to pay VAT when you bring them into the UK.0
