Hi Auntie Dolly. Well this is a mystery because if you are suggesting that these are things that CAN be paid for online (not what you are necessarily being charged for), surely the same "items" would show up for both of my children...and they don't. For example neither of the two aforementioned items were on both children's accounts.
Furthermore, when I go into the account sections for each child.... it quite clearly states for that child, "Items Due for Payment" and gives a brief description (often abbreviated) of the item, an amount and a due date. This would imply that payment for these items is expected. I don't think I'd get away with sending out a communication to any of my business customers with a notification of "Items Due for Payment" and also a due date for payment....when they were not actually going to receive some of these "items". What a nonsense!
...and how do you decide if the item is something that your child is going to receive or is involved with on the occasions that they abbreviate the descriptions?
...if what you say is correct, I would suggest that this system needs some serious re-wording. May I suggest "Items That May Be Requested", rather than "Items Due for Payment"? My goodness, no wonder GCSE English went "belly-up" last year when school payment systems can't actually say what they mean...0 -
What did your last slave die of? Don't be so lazy. You can't expect other people to do all your research for you.
From your earlier post I assumed you knew what you were talking about. Having had a brief encounter with the act a few years ago I knew it was extensive so was just looking for a steer.0 -

Having had a look, the only relevant part I could find was about children in boarding schools. I too would appreciate it if you could point to the relevant part of the act as I'm obviously missing it. (It's a big piece of legislation though, so it's possible it's in one of the bits I didn't think sounded relevant enough to read)

I can (just) remember being an 11 year old boy, and football in the yard was FAR more important.0
