Am I eligible to reclaim PPI on old car finance?

Hi, just wondering whether someone could confirm I'm eligible to make a PPI claim. I had a 4 year long car finance deal, which started back in 2007, I still have the documents I signed at the car dealership and at the bottom there is a Tick box option for Payment protection insurance with a line for a signature. I didn't tick this box or sign on the line below. Subsequently, I received letters from a company stating how much per month my PPI was going to be and this was taken from my bank account each month, on the same day as my finance but appeared separately on my statement.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Danny.

Anyone can complain about whatever they like. If you disagree with what the car dealer did then write to the dealer and tell them.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. They are not financial advice and you should not treat them as such. If you feel an area discussed may be relevant to you, then please seek advice from an Independent Financial Adviser local to you.0 -
Thanks, Could someone confirm that this does seem like a legitimate reason to claim?
Just to add my Finance was with Southern Finance and the PPI was taken by a company called Pinnacle insurance so who would I complain to the dealership, finance company or insurance company?
Thanks again in advance for any advice.0 -

It is a reason for complaint. However, it is a weaker reason in the odds of success. You say they did this. Chances are they will say there is no evidence to suggest that was the case.Just to add my Finance was with Southern Finance and the PPI was taken by a company called Pinnacle insurance so who would I complain to the dealership, finance company or insurance company?
You complain to the dealer. The dealer sold it to you. Not the lender or the insurer.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). If you have the original documents and there is no signature or tick for PPI but you were charged it anyway, I'd say that's good enough to complain about, because it's not like credit card PPI, you wouldn't have been sold it over the phone at a later date.
Are you sure the paperwork you have relates tot he PPI you were paying?Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi0
