If you have all that metalwork in your back and you suffer from depression, have you tried a claim for ESA (or PIP) ?.
You say you have a chance of a job in a cafe, but such work involves a lot of standing.Never Knowingly Understood.

Hi Angela,
Just wanted to wish you well.
You are very brave coming on here and telling your story but standing up and admitting that you have a problem is the first step to curing it.
I hope it all works out for you. Thanks to MSE I cleared £37k of debt in five years and I was lucky enough to meet Martin to thank him personally.0 -
Hi, and thank you Richardvc, it was hard but I am starting to feel better that I am talking about it.
I am also seeing a counseller tomorrow morning, which I thought they got booked very quick for me, so im happy about that.
Thank you for the link Savvy_Sue
Patman: No I havent thought about that, I have never claimed anything in my life, and where would I start to look into that? I mean who would I speak to about it?
The Cafe job will be standing, but my friend knows about my back problem and has said I can take extra breaks just for a quick sit down (as long as I don't take the P**s) It wouldnt be to many hours to start with anyway, about 10-16 hours a week just to see how my back is and everything.
I am still waiting for the jobcentre to phone me with an interview date and time, I started the Claim on Tuesday, do you know how long it will be before I hear?
I subbmitted the claim about 6pm on Tuesday evening.
Thank you

I cannot remember the timescale of the job centre/benefits I am afraid, I just came back to say I was completely honest with the job centre too - in my opinion you have done the hardest part already
Good luck with the job hunt xAngela230787 wrote: »Hi Makeyourdaddyproud and Halfbaked.
Thank you for your comments, makeyourdaddyproud I know I probably have althoug I have had a good friend who is opening a cafe in about 6 weeks who is willing to take me on, so might not be to bad, yes a lot less money but I should be working.
Halfbaked thank you for your comments and that advise on the gamberling I didnt know they existed but will look them up.
It was hard for me to admit it, esp to my family and they now know about it and are helping me aswell.
I actully feel a lot better, yes I have the debts but my dad said he was watching me get worse and worse but when he talked to me I said I was fine, and he said come the end he thought I was going to have a breakdown, but he now sees I am better, even in a day after admitting it all.
My debt mangerment should be ringing me Monday on what options I have.
Still waiting to hear from the job centre though, not sure how long it takes them, I am not a person to lie to them which was some advice Igot from someone (not on here) I wont do that and I have said I lost my job due to Gross Misconduct, didnt say why as they havent asked yet, but when they ask what happened I will be honest.
The time of me lying and trying to bury my head is over.
Thank you

Thank you Halfbaked, there is a small chance I might get something then.
Although at the moment I am just happy I will speaking to a counseller tomorrow and have spoke to a debt advice charity.
I still may hear from work if they want to do anything else, because HR dealt with the issue, but my Boss was away on leave think he is either back Monday or the following week. So not sure what will come from that, I guess is if they want to pay for the items or not......
Is it worth I have already said sorry of course and know how wrong I was and have offered to pay for the items, is it worth telling them that I am not getting help via counselling....not looking for my job back just to show them that this is normally me, and I am doing something about it.
I have also found out I don't want another job like I had because it was to much respoinsbility for me, and I couldnt handle the stress, and the workload.
Thank you for all the advice.

I have now listed all my debts in signature. Thought I better to view it in better light and have it out there.
It is bad I know, but this is the start of me getting debt free, and I am hoping I will enjoy watching these come down (slowly) but still come down.
Any advice on what to do to tackle this will be helpful, I am going docs tomorrow for counselling on depression I have also been to the websites people have suggested for the gamberling and am feeling better about that, also unscricribed from all emails from gamberling sites (although I bet I still get some) but it is a start.
Thank you

For ESA/PIP you need to speak to the Job centre. You will need some paperwork filled-in by your Dr.
My son is on ESA as he has depression so I know you need to go via the JC.Never Knowingly Understood.

Hi Patman99,
Thank you for the advice, i am off to my first counselling session today, which i am nervous about, as i have spoke to anyone before about my feelings and depression not even family.
I have my appointment for the job centre on Monday at 10am, before that I have a debt advisor ringing me at 8am or 8.30am.
I have also got advice from my union rep at work, although i dont work there anymore i am still in the Union, and he has advice me if work do try phoning me, I dont have to answer, they should send any communications now via Letter....Do you think they try ringing I should answer, I think though they will do it the right way by sending letters.
I have been dismissed from work and have had the letter telling me that and i no longer work for them.
but the letter also says because mt boss was away when all this happened I will hear more from them when he is back.....not sure what that is though, I guess its if he wants me to pay for any of the items, which i did offer to do.
Also had letter today from Nationwide about my credit card, and they are giving me breathing space to sort out a debt repayment program for 30 days.
i guess when i hear from stepchange then I will have to phone them again, Stepchange dont contact them do they?
Thank you for all the help on this site..hopefully after today i will start to feel better and look forward.Went Bankrupt on 24th July 20130
