My current pc has xp home installed along with Zonealarm, AVG, Adaware, Spybot, Spyguard and Spyblaster which works in perfect harmony :-)

If i bought a computer with vista basic installed would the above anti-virus etc software work or will there be some conflict?
Problem with having access to internet is that i get asked by many to solve their problems :( Well at least i learn something on the way :D

The Vista firewall is better than the XP one but is still not great. Zone Labs are working on a Vista compatible version of ZoneAlarm which should be out soon. I shall install that when it is released.

Other than that I run AVG, Spybot and AdAware without any problems. I also run Microsoft Defender anti-spyware.

Other than googling it, try the earlier link for firewalls & search for anti-virus instead - the website they come from is pretty safe

I think Adaware is not compatible with Vista, I can't remember if I tried to installed it.
  • AVG works on Vista.
