I think some of the visor ones are able to read out your phonebook and possibly do voice dialling but that's about it.Hmm I see what you say, but I think the visor type is just a basic, you here a ring and then can press a green phone sign to pick it up. Tell me if I am wrong.
I need a little more than that and the music integration of the Parrot (with the SD card) was a huge selling point for me as I find CD's clunky and always changing them, I like to have my complete music collection available. I also don't own an Mp3 player or iPod, so it kills 2 birds with one stone as I spend the only time listening to my music in the car.0 -
Well my choice was made harder today when I walked into Halford to scope the market.
There are Double-DIN radios that also have bluetoot and SD card slot all for £139.99, which is cheaper than the parrot, but the Parrot Asteroid also is really appealing for £299.99 but I think just too extreme what I want.0 -
Decided on the Parrot MKi9200 from Halfords in the end.

£149.99 for the unit
£49.99 for fitting
£15.99 for adaptor cable (62 plated Corsa)
I thought the unit price was reasonable given the features: in car stereo integration, syncs with contacts, bring up text messages, caller ID and photo if they have one on your phone, SD card compatible (upto 32GB), which allows me to discard another lead and the good touch screen that comes with it.
The £49.99 fitting charge seems a bit steep but they stated that they allow 1hr 30mins to do the job properly, just in case there are any difficulties and as it is being done by the 'professionals', if anything goes wrong, I can fallback on them for blame.
£15.99 for the lead. Can probably pick up the same thing off eBay for a fiver delivered but sometimes it's just easier and more convenient to get it all-in-one.
The unit is being fitted on Sunday at 11am, which is quick considering I asked for it at 1pm today.
I will update you once I have it installed and used it.0
