Personal possessions insurance

Hello,
Any tips on where to buy decent personal belongings insurance? I've just bought a new mobile phone, so want to insure that, but may also cover my mp3 player, glasses (I've had them nicked off my face when asleep on the tube before, even though they're just standard prescription specs!).
I don't want to include personal possessions in my home insurance, because I'm sure it will send the premium rocketing, so best to keep it separate.

I've always included my glasses, mp3 players and cameras in my home contents as looking around it is more expensive to try and insure stuff separately.
I've never claimed as my excess is about £100 so it's not worth claiming for anything apart from glasses and one of my cameras unless I lost/got stolen the lot in one go. (I've not lost, broken or had my glasses stolen yet cost approx £400) My home contents works out about £25 more to have £2,000 of personal processions added to it.
I don't bother insuring mobile phones I just ensure I'm able to obtain an older mobile phone to put my sim in and I'm on the ball i.e. know if I lost it or not. However you can get mobile phone insurance separately I just googled "mobile phone insurance" and found loads of links.I'm not cynical I'm realistic
(If a link I give opens pop ups I won't know I don't use windows)0 -
You're right - there are lots of mobile phone insurers, but it's insurers who bundle other personal possessions into the policy that I'm looking for. Thanks.
Anyone else?0 -
You'd be hard pushed I would say to find anyone offering independant pp that would compete with the price offered by your contents insurers, have you asked them the cost of the extra premium? I doubt very much it would be substantial. I wouldn't expect £2k of unspecified pp cover to be much more than an additional £10Four guns yet only one trigger prepare for a volley.Together we can make a difference.0
