A neighbour by my mums house has this lovely tree (2 of them) and she does not know what they are as they were there when she moved in (the neighbour)

Does anyone know, and would like to grow one in my garden aslong as they don't get too big

thanks

If those are yellow flowers all over it then I'd guess at a laburnum.

They look too big for a back garden. Look up laburnum to see if it matches, cant tell from the pic. I dont think it is though, from the shape .

No flowers that i can remember. Looked it up not that.

It reminded me of a weeping willow.

Yep, looks like it is that. Thank you.

Also seen how big they get, would like to add height to my garden but i think the size of the tree in the picture is the perfect size and don't want one that will grow to 20foot etc.

Anyone have any ideas for a tree that will not grow much bigger than the tree in the picture but also look quite similar.

    laburnum? :D

How high do Laburnums actually grow? I would love one for my front garden and always thought they were smallish trees (my nan had one that never seemed to grow beyond 8-9 ft), but I saw a much bigger tree yesterday, so I'm not too sure now! Do they need pruning to keep them smaller or are there certain types that only grow so high?

*Edit to add - sorry to barge in on your post,OP :)

No problem, it looks like a weeping silver birch will take a close look next time.

Have seen a dwarf version of the silver birch which is Sorbus Hostii
