Better to use this one 0800 7816314 (freephone) or this one 0800 3777333 (freephone to customer services) or this one 01634 816324 (geographic). Thanks to https://www.saynoto0870.com.
Having said that, reading the OP's last post no need to ring any of them now I suspect.0 -

So glad u spoke to stepchange, been worried about u today, personally for me speaking to and for what of a better description letting stepchange take care of the mess is like a weight off my shoulders.
Youve made the hardest step, that is by asking for help. Stepchange have been brilliant for me, I've been with them since sept last yr, and think have about 4 letters no calls, xxxx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx0 -
Even if you pay them £10 they have to accept it as you trying...then in the meantime contact a debt support agency who will liaise on your behalf and keep them off your back. I was in debt years ago and used a debt management org to help me - I think they were called CCMS and were backed by the government. They helped a lot ! Look up help to mange debts.
Have you thought of applying for DLA for depression...look online for advice and where you can get the form. Your GP can help you with this.
Your lenders can harass you all they want - if you are showing that you are trying to do something, they have to back off. You are entitled to support, but you have to ask for it.0 -
:j Thanks everyone youve been great.
i was really worried . but Gemma at Stepchange was really helpful ans reassuring.:A0 -
Attention folks.
Vanquis Bank RETURN SPECIAL DELIVERY LETTERS!!
I got everything printed out with stepchange and i assumed they had now all my info...
But.... i checked online and the letter i sent with everything in that cost £6.22 TO POST....... has been RETURNED!!!
This can mean only one thing.... Vanquis IGNORE AND REFUSE all mail.
So now i have to FAX them all this stuff....but again now i gotta mess around finding a place to do it from, pay to fax a bunch of papers and then HOPE THEY NOTICE IT!!
super frustrated. :mad:0 -

Are you sure it's been refused? Could just be that the postman couldn't find anybody to sign for it (maybe it was a Saturday), so he'd have to take it back to the Delivery Office and leave a red card (P739).
If you want me to check for you, PM me the tracking number (I work for Royal Mail)0 -
I checked it online like 15 minutes before i posted on here.. i called Vanquis straight away and told em aswell.
( i had checked online just to make sure someone had signed for my letter.... now i see nobody bothered too )
here is what i get when i type in the reference number on royalmail.com
AA000100019GB e.g. AA000100019GB
How to find your reference number
Returned to sender
Your item with reference AD432504178GB was delivered back to sender from our CHATHAM Delivery Office before 09:00 on 18/06/13.
This item was returned to the sender as we were unable to deliver the item.
So.... im assuming these Impact Collections folk have some policy where they refuse any incoming mail. I will be resending everything to Vanquis PO BOX address though...even though all payment demand letters i get are from the address i posted all my info too....
confused.com/vanquismorons.
anyway... just thought others should know before wasting money posting to them cos they will just return your envelopes.
and the thing is..... i now have to wait around till the mail shows up to get this returned letter before anyone else sees it!! I cant risk anyone seeing a letter that says IMPACT COLLECTIONS on it... its so obvious a debt company.

This item was returned to the sender as we were unable to deliver the item.
So they tried to deliver it before 9am? This means that Vanquis come into the Delivery Office every day to collect their mail - and the person would have decided not to sign for that item.
The fact that they came into the office at 9am means that they don't refuse ALL mail - maybe only Special Deliveries? For whatever reasons they may have.

OK, here's my advice, as a postman, and I hope you see it in time:
All items that are returned to sender are returned via the same service they were sent by - so a 1pm Special Delivery will get to you before 1pm tomorrow. If it was a 9am Special Delivery, likewise - but I expect it was a 1pm one.
Find out where your local delivery office is, and the opening times, and the telephone number (if you give me the first part of your postcode, e.g. EX33, I'll find this out for you). Get up really early tomorrow, depending on the opening times. Go to your Delivery Office as soon as it opens, and make sure you have ID with you (passport / driving license). Proof of address AS WELL would be good, but that's on your driving license.
Explain *really politely* that you're expecting a returned Special Delivery, and nobody will be home later, and it's really urgent that you have it now. Look really apologetic, and with any luck they'll be kind enough to give it to you there and then. Look really desperate, and show them the proof of ID / address.
And remember, the earlier you arrive, the higher the chance of this working. If you tell me the first chunk of your postcode I'll tell you where your DO is, and its opening times0
