THE toy has had it

Hi,

3 yo DD's favourite toy has had it almost completely. I have desparetely been searching the internet for a replacement but i can't find one. It is an old mamas & papas toy but they dont make it any more and i can't find out what "model" it is. We call it mousey but i'm not sure if its a mouse or a rabbit. It has a grey & pink body & long floppy ears & has beans in its feet & body & padding in the head.

Any ideas on where i might be able to get a replacement or how to get her on to something different? We have just (approx a month ago) got her off dummies so i would prefer a replacement.

Thanx

I'd contact mamas and papas...i'm sure if you wrote them a pleading letter of where to go to find it and that DD is devastated etc etc that they'll sort something out for you.. I remember back 11years ago when I bought DS1 (who was 2) a Cadburys easter egg which had a two little plastic space toys... one a bright pink alien and the other a blue astronaut with yellow helmet...he adored this spaceman and took it everywhere...until he dropped it whilst shopping....never found it....however cadburys came up trumps and sent one of each so might be worth a try...appeal to their better nature!!

edit....sorry just re read your post and realised you said they don't do it anymore!!! oops..may as well disregard post!

Ebay, Charity Shop, NCT sale? Post a photo here too, you could also try posting on the 'Want it now' section of Ebay.

This happened to me with one of DS1's toys - A Russ Berry cuddly tiger called Thor. He'd had one since birth and every year I've replaced it with anew one - a kind of family running joke and he got the very ever last one on Friday (He's now 7)- last ever cos they haven't made them for a few years now and I've resorted to buying replacements on EBAY

Maybe if you post to Want it Now on Ebay????

    Hi,

I wonder is this will help, https://www.drtoy.com and you can ask DR Toy a question, maybe they could answer your query as to the name of it.

I saw this on E-Bay, i know its not the same colour but I think its lovely (but quite expensive) Item number: 250117483810.

  • Just to point out - I don't know how they know but toddlers always seem to know there is an "imposter"

My 2 examples are as follows:

When our middle child was about 16 months my Mum took him and his big sister out - and managed to loose a 12" Fimbo - don't ask me how! So at the time they were still in the shops so she brought another one home... It was his favourite toy - went everywhere with him... he never went near the "new one" not that he was even big enough to know what happened!

So after this incident middle child received "little tigger" as a gift, the Christmas after he lost Fimbo. Little tigger was the thing he took everywhere - when he went to nursery was the only time I could give little tigger a bath (and belive me he got really smelly!) he was loved so much that this Xmas when santa came rudolph performed some "magic" and made little tiggers striped come back (ok in relaity I bought a new one from the same shop and wrote a letter from Santa telling him about rudolph's "magic") He was not happy - at all - he knew it wasn't the "right" one definately didn't like what Rudolph had done and his (new) little tigger... never really been hugged...

My advice would be take little one to the shops - let her see if there is a new cuddle toy she likes the look of... it would probably be significantly cheaper than trying to get the "same" one from ebay.

BTW the "real" little tigger is in the loft, in a box with all other bits and pieces that have some remote sentimental attachment... I am a bad mother - but I can't smell him there!

My son had a 'special pillow' made out of material long since gone by my MIL. When it ripped beyond repair there was no way it could be replaced. Instead we told DS he would be getting a new 'special pillow' and he was to choose the material for it to be made by nanny.
