Philips Dtr210 Freeview

We have just bought a Philips DTR210 twin tuner freeview box. When watching channels through the box the colour seems darker, more red, than watching the same programme on ordinary TV. Is there any way of altering the colour on the freeview box? If we can't tone it down we don't want to keep the box.

is it plugged directly into the tv with a scart lead?
Ever get the feeling you are wasting your time?

No Albertross, it connects into the video and then into a "splitter", there is also a DVD recorder connected into the splitter, then the splitter connects into the TV as it only has one scart socket.

I would add that we previously had a Thomson freeview box (which has now given up the ghost) connected the same way and we didn't have any problems with colour tone with that one.

Think you'll have to tone it down by adjusting the TV - I just use the freeview box rather than the analogue these days, so have adjusted the TV colour, contrast, and brightness on the TV to suit.

Much nicer picture doing it that way Albertross! Hubby has now re-jigged how he has connected everything and picture colour is fine. Thanks for pointing us in the right direction, much appreciated.

Thanks for your suggestion ManAt Home. We need to use the analogue as well as we had a lot of "locking up" with the previous freeview box so we want both options. However, after Albertross's suggestion hubby has altered the way everything is connected and picture is now very good.
