Courier to Barking Essex PLEASE HELP

Asked on another thread but have had no replies so will try here. Sold an item on Ebay with postage Hermes £5.40 however neither Hermes or Collect+ deliver to Barking in Essex (IG11). Have had a good look at other couriers and Royal Mail site but cannot find anything cheaper than £10. Can anyone please help point me in the direction of a courier at a reasonable price. It seems ridiculous that it costs double to send to Barking. Please, any advice welcome, if I post at £10 I will be out of pocket.

Are you sure? That is not a huge distance from me and I use MyHermes to similar postcodes.

Hermes won't deliver to Barking? Have they told you this? I'm in an adjacent borough and regularly get parcels from them.

EDIT:

Just tried a dummy parcel to Barking post office at postcode IG11 8EL and there was no problem.

Make sure you are putting the post code in correctly, using letters and numbers appropriately

Definately won't deliver, message comes up after I've filled in the postcode. I tried P2G site and same thing on there, Collect+ gives same message. I've even contacted livehelp and they just said they don't cover all areas. postcode is IG11 0TT (address Maybells Commercial Estate, Old Essex Works, Ripple Road, Barking) I've now tried various courier sites but all are expensive. My parcel weighs 2.5kg and measures 53 x 36 x 22cm.

One of the people I work for lives in barking andshe has parcels picked up and dropped off by myhermes.

Why don't you give them a ring tomorrow and see if it's a problem with the website.

Of course this is out of the question but I could get there realy easily and my first instinct was to say get it to me and I'll drop it round there for you. But ... a silly suggestion.

Do Hermes deliver to Essex at all?

Well, decided to have another go on P2Go site - tried Hermes and Collect+ with same result - 'No Service available in that area'. Tried the Hermes site again - 'can't deliver'. Tried Collect+ site and RESULT! It accepted the address and I've just printed the label. Cost me more than Hermes but nothing else I could do. Hopefully it will get where its going! Thank you for all your replies and advice.

Myhermes delivers to that address ie Safestore storage as does collect + Go straight to the website rather than booking through an agent.

Hi, I usually use Myhermes site not an agent but the site said it didn't deliver to that area that's when I tried Parcel2go, etc. The company is Segmus not Safestore, Hermes didn't give me an address at all for Segmus only when I changed it to Maybells Commercial Estate did the correct address in Barking come up. Looked up the estate and its a series of units. Completed the rest of the form but when I clicked next a message that they didn't deliver to the area came up. Have now managed to book directly with Collect+. Just hoping it actually gets delivered!
