pull cord for shower doesnt work..

Hi,

I have just got back from 4 months in USA and a couple of weeks ago the pull cord to turn the shower on seems to have broken, ie: you pull the cord, but the light doesnt turn on, and nothing 'clicks' on, like it should do.

Any thoughts on what the problem might be and how best to get it fixed?

Either the pull cord itself it broken or the MCB or fuse serving the shower unithas tripped.

First check the fuse/MCB after turning the mains supply off at the main switch.

If this is not the fault you had best get an electrician in to change the switch or check the circuit.

I've had trouble with pull cords sticking. If you pull the cord and there is no click you could try gently and i mean gently!!! tapping the outer casing of the switch. This has many a time freed up the problem.
